Tech Tuesday provides no-cost tech support & teaching at 12 Baskets Cafe, a project of the Asheville Poverty Initiative.
Access to digital communication has never been more necessary to navigate today's interconnected society. Tech Tuesday was founded by Jensen Gelfond of Asheville Digital Lifestyle in 2023. Sebastian Mathews (formerly with Apple and the owner of Cinefile Video and The CineVault) joined the effort in 2025.
Tech Tuesday, the no-cost community tech support offering, happens every Tuesday from 10:30am - 12:30pm at 12 Baskets Cafe (610 Haywood Road, Asheville, NC).

- Support accessing job applications and other bureaucratic systems
We also support people seeking cellular service through the FCC's Lifeline program and participating cellular providers such as Assurance Wireless, , SafeLink Wireless, and Access Wireless. Whether communicating with loved ones, work, or seeking an important piece of information, we recognize the opportunities that access to digital communication creates, and strive to open up those opportunities to people in the 12 Baskets community.
We also facilitate the transfer of digital devices from those who no longer need them to those who are without.

Donation opportunity:
You can donate your old smartphone, tablet, or laptop, and we will provide it to someone in need. Our top need is smartphones. We also accept chargers and headphones.
How to donate a device
You can donate your smartphone, tablet, or laptop by bringing it to 12 Baskets Cafe (610 Haywood Road, Asheville, NC) any Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday between the hours of 10am - 1pm. Ask for Donna, who will receive your donation. If you come on Tuesday between 10:30am - 12:30pm you are welcome to make your donation at the Tech Tuesday table (just inside the cafe front door).
