Firefox is the most privacy-conscious of the major web browsers. Google Chrome has risen in the ranks by being speedy. However, researchers have found that users of Chrome inadvertently share more information with advertisers than users of Firefox, due to the way the web browser is designed. This makes sense, as Chrome is made by Google, who make the lion’s share of their profits through advertising, while Firefox is maintained by a nonprofit collaborative.
