Windows 10: Should You Upgrade?

Windows 10 represents a major step forward for ease of use for those who have had frustrations with Windows 8. If you're on Windows 7 you may be happy sticking with it, but those who are unhappy on Windows 8 may want to eventually upgrade.

If you are considering upgrading your existing computer to Windows 10, it’s wise to wait at least a couple months to allow Microsoft to smooth out the bugs. 

AND just as important, check with the manufacturer of your PC (e.g. Dell) and make sure that they have certified your PC as ready for Windows 10. Many people have attempted to upgrade to Windows 10 and ended up with a broken operating system because the manufacturer hadn’t released updated drivers for their PC.

If you are buying a new PC from a retail store, it will likely come with Windows 10. However, if you prefer Windows 7 (and many people do), you can still purchase a PC with Windows 7 online directly from the manufacturer (e.g. from Toshiba, which has the best laptop reliability rankings of any Windows PC manufacturer).
