3 ways to autofill in 1Password

We love password managers because they make the difficult job of logging into websites a lot easier, and they also help you to change your passwords to avoid using the same password or a minor variation of it on multiple websites (a common faux pas that can lead to security problems).

Our favorite password manager is 1Password. With 1Password installed on your PC or Mac, here are 3 ways you can autofill a password:

• Open the website you want to login to, and click on the website's password field. If 1Password has the password stored, it will offer to fill it. 
• Use a keyboard shortcut. When it's time for 1Password to automatically fill in a password, use a keyboard combo (typically Command-backslash on a Mac, or Control-backslash on a PC). 1Password will automatically fill the password.
• Go straight from the 1Password app. After opening 1Password on your computer, find the name of the website you would like to log into, and click on the website link from inside 1Password. The website will open up inside of your web browser and automatically fill in the password.
